12 years ago our daughter was born and very quickly things went wrong. She was left with irreparable brain damage and subsequent diagnosis of epilepsy, cerebral palsy, CVI, dysphasia and Global Developmental Delay. Instead of falling into despair we got researching and fundraising to help her have the best life she could under the circumstances. We took her to Fort Lauderdale in the States, Piestany in Slovakia, Heel and Toe and Conductive Life Services locally. The intensive therapies made the world of difference to our daughters abilities. Her paediatrician marvels at what she now does- rolling over, holding her head well, indicating likes and dislikes and showing love. He marvels at her because her brain scan indicates she shouldn’t be able to do anything – this is the power of love and therapies that manipulate the elasticity of the brain.
